Multilingual Emergency J-ALERT Notification App “Safety Tips”

Announcement
On October 4, 2022, a J-ALERT was sent from the Japanese government regarding the launch and passage of a missile over Hokkaido from North Korea. As a general rule, J-ALERTs are only sent in Japanese, which means that it can take extra time for foreign nationals living in Japan to correctly understand the content.

In order to quickly understand the content of future J-ALERTs, we recommend that you download the multilingual app “Safety Tips” which was made for foreign nationals in Japan by the Japan Tourism Agency. Details about the app are below.

■Push-enabled Alert Information
 ・Earthquake early warnings
 ・Tsunami warnings
 ・Weather warnings
 ・Volcanic warnings
 ・Heat illness warnings
 ・Civil protection information such as missile launch warnings
 ・Evacuation information etc.
